Shiva Amulet Statement Necklace

This necklace features 3 strands with amethyst, purple glass beads, silver plated Bali beads and spacers, silver glass beads, snow quartz chips and a Hindu Amulet depicting Shiva with a vehicle of dog and a trident for the ability to destroy evil and ignorance. All 3 strands are attached to sterling silver wavy diamond connectors with sterling silver s hooks which attach to the brown leather cord. My signature sterling silver clasp and a sterling silver tag complete this beautiful statement necklace. Length: about 17 1/2" Hindu Amulet: It comes from the Indian state of Rajasthan and was made between the late 19th to early 20th century. This pendant features the deity Shiva. Known as "the auspicious one," Shiva is the god of destruction, but since every end has a new beginning he is also associated with transformation. The amulet was stamped and cut in the protective mandala shape. It is believed that this particular shape repels evil spirits and prevents them from harming the wearer. It is made from old coin silver (a traditional mixture of silver and other metals).
